Are you wanting to throw a fiesta-themed party, but not sure where to start and also not wanting to spending a bunch of money on fiesta decorations??? Let me help you with these cheap and easy fiesta decoration ideas. Some of these ideas are DIY and some are things you can find at Walmart for 3 bucks!!!!
It’s impossible to not have a good time at a fiesta-themed party! Seriously! You can’t go wrong with tacos, margaritas and beautiful Mexican inspired decor. Which is why I decided to go with the foolproof theme when hosting my Mom’s 60th intimate birthday dinner. We filled the house with colorful balloons, lots of flowers and a delicious taco bar. The family had a blast and I now have a few fiesta decorations to add to my birthday decor arsenal in the basement.

Fiesta Flower Arrangement Centerpiece Idea

These flower arrangements are the main reason why I wanted to go with this theme for my Mom’s birthday. They turned out just as cute as the ones I saw on Pinterest! Everything is from the grocery store too! The Mexican canned goods are from the Mexican food aisle at Walmart (I think I had to order the larger one online, so shop around) and the flowers came from Kroger’s floral department. Kroger had a ton flower arrangements on sale, so I snagged a cart full and then my sister and I rearranged them to make these beautiful fiesta centerpieces!
Flower Tip (from a non pro florist): My sister’s trick to arranging her own flowers is to hold the arrangement in your hand while arranging your stems. Once you like the height of all the flowers, then you snip the ends all at once. I usually snip my stems as I put them in the jar, but hers turned out way better, so that’s what I will do from now on. I had her redo mine lol.
Fiesta-Inspired Table Runners

These runners are beautiful! My house is very neutral, so these colorful runners really stood out! I think I prefer table runners over tablecloths now that we have a prettier kitchen table (thanks to FB Marketplace). Table runners even look good on plain white folding tables too. Unless it’s a fancy event or the folding tables are super ugly, I tend to avoid tablecloths anymore. They are expeically difficult for outside events.
Fiesta Balloon Garlands

It’s not a party without at least one or two balloon decorations, right?!!? Here’s a link to the balloon garland kit I ordered. I split the kit in half and added some more gold balloons. This allowed enough balloons for both our board and batten wall and across our mantle. Balloons are such an easy and fun way to pull together your theme. Cheap too!

Large Papel Picado Fiesta Banner

You can find this fiesta banner in the party section at Walmart for like 3 bucks and it is huge!! It’s 20 feet long. I didn’t get a great photo of it, but it was the perfect touch to our fiesta. Plus, it’s plastic so I can easily reuse it for our next fiesta. Here’s the link to the Walmart Banner.
Number Balloons for Milestone Birthdays

Number balloons are always a good idea for milestone birthdays! Plus, we needed something on this wall since we don’t have shelves above our coffee bar yet. These balloons were the perfect backdrop to our drink station Here’s a Link to these balloons.

Lime Centerpieces I saw on Pinterest

Another Pinterest idea! This one stumped us for bit, but we eventually figured it out. We ended up sticking a stemless champagne flute inside the candle votive, so the limes would sit correctly in the glass. I then cut out some circles out, stuck “60” on them from a pack of stickers I had and attached them to a kabab skewer. These lime centerpieces were almost a fail but they ended up working out. We were wanting flowers in them but we couldn’t fit that many in the flute so we stuck fairy lights in them instead. Sometimes you have to get creative when your original plan is a fail :).
That’s it for now! I hope you found this tips helpful 🙂
