Transform your bathroom with this personalized bathroom wall decor idea and turn candid moments with your baby into beautiful bath decor!

Looking for the right bathroom wall art to make your bathroom space feel more personal and welcoming? Try using a sweet photo of your baby’s first bath! So, why not make it into precious bathroom decor? The bathroom is one of those rooms where you often spend more time than you’d think, so why not make it a space that brings you joy? One great way to personalize your bathroom decor is by enlarging and framing photos of your kids, such as their first bath in the tub. Not only does this fill your bathroom space beautifully, but it also commemorates those precious moments. Plus, if you share the bathroom with your kids, they’ll love seeing their own photos on the wall! It’s a simple, affordable way to create a meaningful space without overwhelming the decor. Photos belong in more than just the living room!
This post is all about this super simple and cheap bathroom wall decor idea!
Why Bathtub Photos?

We let so many precious memories live in our phone, like your baby’s first bath, or in this case, the boys’ first time enjoying and smiling about being in a bath. Turning these precious moments into black-and-white prints transforms them into timeless pieces that beautifully decorate your bathroom. These timeless pieces will not only brighten up the space, but also add a sense of warmth and personality. Personalized bathroom wall decor can make the bathroom feel more like “home” and offer aesthetic appeal, adding emotional depth to the space.
Affordable Bathroom Decor

I enlarged and turned these images into black-and-white prints using the Walgreens photo site, and the two prints cost me less than $5 after using an online coupon. I always make sure to check for coupon codes before ordering prints, as they always offer 40% or 50% discounts. The frames, complete with mats, were found at my local Target for a great price—cheaper than similar ones on Amazon. However, if you’d prefer to order frames from Amazon, here’s a link for you.
Simple Bathroom Decorating Tips:

- Go big! — Homeowners typically struggle with decorating because they are thinking too small. Don’t be afraid to go bigger and fill the space properly. You don’t want the wall space to visually seem to shrink the decor. Larger decor pieces can actually make the space feel bigger
- Remember the 2/3 rule of decorating — artwork or decor should cover about two-thirds of the available wall space to achieve a balanced, visually pleasing look. This rule helps ensure the decor doesn’t feel too crowded or too sparse. For your bathroom, this could mean placing your bathtub photos in a way that they fill two-thirds of the wall, leaving enough space around them to let the photos breathe and maintain the room’s open, welcoming vibe.
- Stick to neutral tones — We went with a natural wood frame color which often complements most bathroom decor syles no matter if they are neutral or more bold without overwhelming the space. This keep the vibe of the bathroom serene and timeless.
- Frame it right — For an elevated and more modern look, maintain a 2:1 ratio when choosing your frame and mat size. For these 8×10 prints, we went with a 16×20 frame.
The Painters Tape Trick: A Simple Method for Hanging Bathroom Decor

The painters tape trick is a simple and effective method for hanging bathroom wall decor without the hassle of measuring and re-aligning. Here’s how it works:
- Cut a Piece of Tape:
- Start by cutting a piece of painters tape the same width as the frame or slightly wider. The tape will be your guide to help position the frame exactly where you want it on the wall.
- Mark the Hanging Points:
- Place the frame on the floor (or on the back of the frame) and measure the distance between the hanging hardware or wire on the back and the top of the frame. Mark these spots on the painters tape.
- Position the Tape on the Wall:
- Now, position the piece of tape on the wall where you want to hang the frame, using your marks as a guide to align the tape with the desired spot. Press it gently to keep it in place. This method is especially helpful for bathroom space where you want to make sure your framed artwork is in the perfect spot.
- Use the Tape as a Template:
- Once the tape is on the wall, you can use it as a template to place your nails or hooks at the correct spots based on the marks you made earlier.
- Hang the Frame:
- Finally, hang your frame on the nails or hooks, then carefully remove the tape. This method ensures your bathroom wall decor stays perfectly aligned and is a quick solution for creating a beautiful, organized space.
This trick helps make the process of hanging photos and bathroom decor ideas much simpler, especially in small or compact spaces!
