DIY Christmas Gift Ideas
Wood Bead Garland

These garlands make great gifts! I like to pair them with a gift card or add them to a gift basket. If the person in your life enjoys the farmhouse look, they are guaranteed to like this DIY version. This farmhouse accessory is like a piece of jewelry for your house. Wood bead garlands add a rustic texture to any room and pair perfectly with the beloved farmhouse style. It’s safe to say I love this trend because I have a beaded garland in almost every room of our home. This garland cost me less than $2 to make, and I like it just as much (if not more) than my other garlands sprinkled throughout our home. In this tutorial, I also explain how to make the twine tassel too. Check out the tutorial here!
Personalized Pillows

Pillows are one of my many décor weaknesses, so it was only a matter of time before I took a wack at a DIY version. I love this DIY because it’s a great way to tie in a room by using paint colors that coordinate with other decorations in your space or adding significant words, names, and phrases that are meaningful to the person you are making it for. I include some simple designs to consider for those who are not as comfortable with a paintbrush. Check out the tutorial here!
Wreath

A wreath instantly warms up a space, whether it be for the front porch, pantry, near your fireplace, a window or the base of a centerpiece. So, why not give one as a gift? Make the gift even more special and DIY! Wreaths are super simple, and don’t have to cost much either. Check out some of my ideas below.
Poster Hanger

What a fun and unique gift these poster hangers could be! They don’t have to be as big as mine, you can make them as small as you want! A photo is worth a 1000 words, so why not print your favorite memory with a few people on your Christmas list! Check out the tutorial here!
Mud Painting

Can you believe I used actual mud to transform this planter?! Actual mud!? Check out the link below to see the before. Playing in the mud brought me back to my childhood in the best way. Giving the gift of mud may sound super weird, but hear me out! Keep reading! Mud painting is such a fun way to transform any décor such as a planter, vase, tray, or decorative bowl. Rope Planter

My absolute favorite DIYs are cheap, require little time to create and few supplies. Which is why this DIY hanging rope basket is my new favorite DIY! Toss a cute faux plant and you have yourself a very cute and thoughtful gift! All you need for this cutie is some jute rope and a hot glue gun. The rope can be found at the good ol’ Dollar Tree which means this basket should cost you less than $4 to make! Check out the tutorial here!
Lazy Susan

Who on your Christmas list appreciates organization more than Marie Kondo? I have a great gift idea! A lazy susan! Take it a step further by customizing one like I did using jute rope. I recently rediscovered the genius invention that is a lazy susan and I am never going back! I want one for every room! They have great functionality by allowing you to use corners effectively and keep spaces tidy. Check out the tutorial here!
Photo Transfer

These photo transfers would make for a super special gift for anyone on your list. It’s a beautifully unique way to display speical memories in the home. I’ve seen DIY photo transfers on Pinterest for years but thought it was too good to be true. I didn’t understand how I was going to get a photo onto wood and make it look nice enough to display. Then, by happy accident, I discovered Mod podge photo transfer medium at Hobby Lobby! You guys, it’s shockingly easy! The hardest part is waiting a few days for your image to fully transfer. Check out the tutorial here!
Book Stacks

Personalized book stacks are a great way to personalize your space, so why not give the gift of personalization?! I plan to make a Christmas stack soon. These charming stacks are cheap and easy to make! Book stacks are a perfect way to celebrate a new home (“Home Sweet Home”), marriage (Mr & Mrs, new last name, wedding date), baby (baby name, birthday, time of birth, weight, height), or even a new dog (family stack with an additional book for the new pup)! Check out the tutorial here!
Hairpin Bench

Why not build this simple and custom bench for the person on your list? This simple DIY hairpin bench only costs us $20 to make and looks amazing against our board and batten entry wall. If I was to order this same bench online, I would be paying more than 5 times more. So, this DIY is worth the time and super easy to customize for your needs! Check out the tutorial here!
Cement Planter

Do you have a plant lover in your life? I know I have several! Why not buy them an indoor plant from your local grocery store and place it in a custom cement planter made by you!?! Planters can be pricey, so why not make your own!? Not only is the material cheap, but a mold can be created out of virtually any material found at home. Don’t want to make your own mold? Amazon has lots of premade silicone ones like the one I used (click here). Anyone with a green thumb will love the personal touch of this inexpensive DIY. I made several this past summer and had so much fun with them! Now if only I was better at keeping the plants alive.. Check out the tutorial here!
Rag Balls

Does the person on your list need a custom dough bowl or vase filler? Maybe you could use fabric from something special? DIY rag balls add a fun shabby chic farmhouse feel to your decor and are the perfect way to fill an empty space and easy to make! I like DIYs like this where you can just eyeball your measurements and not stress about perfection. You know I love to wing it! This DIY makes for the perfect Sunday craft while you catch up on your shows (which is exactly what I did). You will notice that each ball turns out a little bit different, making each one unique and even more shabby and charming. Bonus: This DIY is niece and nephew proof! Which is very important to this Auntie!! Check out the tutorial here!
Reversed Canvas

A reversed canvas is a fun and easy way to personalize your space! I have one in every room of our house. A reversed canvas makes for a great gift too! I usually fill my frames with canvas or large photos, but recently discovered this awesome shiplap version! Who on your list could use one of these?? Don’t like your lettering? I have a tutorial to help you with that too! PS: I cheat! Check it out below! Check out the tutorial here!
Jewelry Dish

Does the person on your list have a place to stash her special rings or jewelry? If not, why not make them one using only three ingredients! These salt dough ring dishes are so easy to make! Have the kiddos help decorate the dish for Grandma/Mom to cherish forever. I wear my wedding ring 99% of the time, but I didn’t have a safe place to set it when I take it off to shower, moisturize or apply product to my hair. One of my worst fears is to lose my wedding ring! I would be absolutely crushed and heartbroken. Not to mention how upset it would make Alex. So, to avoid heartache, I whipped up some salt dough! It’s the same recipe I used to make my salt dough ornaments, and just as easy and fun to make. Check out the tutorial here!
